In a pivotal step towards fostering innovation and driving economic growth, NSF and the Export Development Board (EDB) convened a meeting on 15th February 2024 at NSF. Senior Officials of both organizations joined the meeting that was chaired by the DG, NSF.
The meeting aimed to explore avenues for collaborative synergy between the two organizations, leveraging science, technology, and innovation to boost Sri Lanka's export sector industries.
Discussions were held in following directions: exchange of knowledge/resources, research collaborations, technology adoption for export enhancement, innovation and product development with special emphasis on export-oriented industries.
In conclusion, the meeting between the NSF and the EDB marks a significant step towards harnessing the power of science and innovation to drive economic growth through the enhancement of the country's export capabilities. The collaborative efforts discussed during the meeting are poised to contribute to the development of a vibrant and globally competitive export sector in Sri Lanka. The way forward was mapped during the discussion.
