






A workshop on “Writing High-Quality Articles for Peer-Reviewed Science Journals”, organized by the National Science Foundation (NSF), was successfully concluded with the participation of 232 attendees, including 80 in person and the rest via Zoom. The event was held on 30th October 2025 at the in the NSF Auditorium.
It commenced with a welcome address by Dr Sepalika Sudasinghe, the Director General of the NSF and introductory remarks by Dr Sudath Samaraweera the Chairman of the NSF, setting the stage for an engaging and informative session.
The program featured a distinguished panel of speakers who shared their expertise on key aspects of scientific publishing:
- Prof. Ajit Abeysekera, Editor-in-Chief, Journal of the National Science Foundation (JNSF)
 - Dr. R. D. Guneratne, Former Director/CEO of NASTEC and Former Editor of JSLAAS
 - Dr. Chathuri Jayasinghe, Senior Lecturer, University of Kelaniya
 - Prof. Roshan Ragel, Senior Professor, University of Peradeniya
 - Scientific Officers from the Editorial Office of the Journal of the National Science Foundation
 
The workshop focused on the importance of submitting scientifically sound and well-structured manuscripts, enhancing academic writing skills, promoting the ethical use of AI in scientific writing, and deepening participants’ understanding of the editorial and peer-review processes. Participants included academics, researchers, and postgraduate students representing universities and research institutions across the country.
