Dr. Sudath Samaraweera, a veteran consultant community physician officially assumed duties as the Chairman of the National Science Foundation with effect from 30th September 2025. He previously served as the Chief Epidemiologist of the Epidemiology Unit and as the Director of the National Dengue Control Unit of the Ministry of Health, Sri Lanka.
