Prof. Dakshina De Silva, Professor of Economics, Lancaster University visited the NSF on 30th November 2023 and met with Prof. Ranjith Senaratne, Chairman of the NSF. Prof. Silva has expertise in a wide range of fields including Environmental and Natural Resource Economics, Regional and Urban Economics Econometrics, Climate Justice and Green Bonds.
He expressed interest to strengthen academic and research programmes in academia related to the said fields. He is currently working with the University of Kelaniya on Environmental Justice in relation to the recent high incidence of colon cancer in Sri Lanka. The NSF will explore the possibility of working with him in the field of Environmental Justice jointly with the University of Kelaniya.
His visit was facilitated through the global digital platform of the NSF.
