Prof. Shanika Karunasekera, Professor of University of Melbourne, Australia visits NSF

Prof.  Shanika Karunasekera, Deputy Dean (Academic) at the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, University of Melbourne, Australia visited National Science Foundation (NSF), Sri Lanka on the 20th November 2023 and held discussion with Prof. Ranjith Senaratne, Chairman of the NSF with a view to promoting research collaboration between Sri Lankan Universities and University of Melbourne, Australia. Discussions were held on current research interests and areas for possible cooperation with special focus on digitalization and artificial intelligence.

During her visit to Sri Lanka, she would visit the University of Moratuwa, and it is expected that her visit would strengthen exiting linkages between the NSF and University of Melbourne. 

This visit was facilitated by Prof. Saman Halgamuge, University of Melbourne who is the principal liaison point of Sri Lankan expatriates in Oceania.
