NSF, Sri Lanka looks forward to forging partnership with NSF, China

The NSF, Sri Lanka jointly with the NSF, China awarded a grant to Prof. Shameen Jinadasa, Director, International Relations, University of Peradeniya in 2019 to work on   water quality. The project  has made good progress yielding  promising results, but  it will end in early 2023. Given the success of the project and its relevance, both institutions are keen to provide continued support so that the results produced could be made use of to the benefit of the community.

Against this backdrop,  Prof. Yuansong Wei and Dr. Yawei Wang of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) visited the NSF along with Prof. Shameen Jinadasa on the 13th December 2022 to discuss the possibility of continuing this collaboration with counterpart support from the NSF, engaging industry as well.

The Chinese delegation has also held discussions with    the Director General and scientific staff of the NSF  and representatives from industry. The NSF is keen to continue  cooperation with the CAS and  the NSF, China  and it looks forward to furthering  the collaboration in a mutually beneficial manner.
