Opening a dialogue for scientific cooperation with USA

Mr Michael Chae, Director  and Mr John,  A. Whiteaker, Deputy Director of the  Information Support Team of the US Embassy,  Colombo visited the National Science Foundation (NSF) on 05th October 2020. The main objective of the visit  was to open a dialogue with  a view to promoting cooperation between NSF and  US universities  to strengthen  the science and technology sector in Sri Lanka and to promote scientific collaboration. Prof. Ranjith Senaratne, Chairman of the NSF welcomed them and gave an overview of the mandate of NSF and its current activities and new initiatives. He expressed interest to forge mutually rewarding partnerships with US institutions.

Dr Thamara Dias, Acting Director General of the NSF, Mr Shantha Siri, Head, International Liaison Division (ILD), Dr Dilrukshi Ranathunge, Head, Science Popularization Division (SPD), and Ms Abhimani Ranathunge, Scientific Officer of SPD of the NSF  also joined the discussion.
