NSF has embarked upon a programme jointly with the Uva-Wellassa University with a view to assessing and enhancing the research profile and capacity of academia and R&D institutions in Sri Lanka. It  will examine the current status of physical, human and intellectual resources available in  the said  institutions and their research profile. The main objectives of the study will be as follows:

  3. To find out the  sources (i.e. state, private sector, foreign)  and magnitude of financial support currently received
  4. To ascertain the availability and utilization of high-end equipment in the said institutions
  5. To identify and enhance  the competencies of the technical staff of those institutions for efficient utilization of high-end equipment while ensuring their minimum downtime
