The National Science Foundation celebrates outstanding excellence in scientific research, research supervision and research publications
The NSF Awards Ceremony 2024, a flagship event in the National Science Foundation's annual calendar, dedicated to honoring excellence in scientific research and academic mentorship, will be held at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) on 16th July 2025.
This year’s ceremony will honour recipients under three prestigious award schemes:
- NSF Research Awards
- Support Scheme for Supervision of Research Degrees (SUSRED)
- Highly Cited Paper Awards (HCPA)
Thirty-eight (38) awards comprising 13 NSF Research Awards, 21 SUSRED awards and 04 HCP awards will be presented to 116 distinguished researchers, including academics from 14 universities and research institutes across Sri Lanka, in recognition of their outstanding contributions to national development through science and innovation.
The event will be graced by:
- Hon. Minister of Science and Technology
- President’s Senior Advisor on Science and Technology
- The Secretary and Senior Officials of the Ministry of Science and Technology
- Over 250 academics and researchers from across the country
