NSF initiative to cross-border transfer of new know-how to boost the agricultural productivity

Agricultural productivity of a country directly relates to its food security. Even though land is a limiting factor in Sri Lankan context, there is a great potential to increase the agricultural productivity significantly by means of empowering farmers with new know-how, infused new technological innovations, optimizing fertilizer utilization efficiency,  managing the field light condition effectively, crop diversification and effective land management. 

A delegation comprised representatives from the Chongqing Dazu Yanpin Agricultural Development Co., Ltd.; which is a is a Division of Hunan Yuanpin Agricultural Teleology Co., Ltd., China visited NSF along with the representatives of St. Theresa (Pvt) Ltd. of Sri Lanka on 26th and discussions were held to explore the potential of a science-based investment contributing to boost the agricultural productivity of Sri Lanka in a mutually rewarding manner. During the discussion their proposal for establishing an agricultural demonstration park & projects for undeveloped land in Sri Lanka, bringing new technology to enhance rice yield and capitalizing on new know-how in improving agricultural productivity were discussed in detail with a positive focus.
