08th Joint Call for Proposals in the field of Agriculture 2019

National Science Foundation of Sri Lanka (NSF), has joined with the e-Asia Joint Research Programme (e-Asia JRP) as a Guest Partner for its 08th Multilateral Call for Proposals on Agriculture. The theme of this call is “Conservation, Improvement and Utilization of Animal Genetic Resources in Asia”. The call is open from 18th January to 14th May, 2019.

Prospective Sri Lankan research Teams in the fields of Livestock and Aquaculture shall form multilateral research teams with the groups. Each research team is expected to team up with at least 03 research teams from 03 countries from the list below to form International Joint Research Teams (Consortia) and to submit multilateral collaborative research proposals on the above theme: Indonesia                                            Russia                             Thailand

The Principal Investigators (PIs) of the Sri Lankan research teams have to submit a research proposal on the local component of research to the NSF using the Prescribed from of Applications attached in Annex 1.

After joint selection of the successful applications for funding, NSF will fund the local research component of a multilateral collaborative research proposal while the respective funding agencies of the other three countries of the collaborative team will fund their respective research teams. A successful Sri Lankan research component of a Joint Research proposal will have provisions to receive a maximum of LKR 10,000,000/- per year. The duration of a multilateral collaborative research project will be 03 years and the NSF wishes to select 03
projects for fresh funding under this call.

The Guidelines of this call for Proposals with further details is attached in Annex 2.

The deadline for submission of applications by the Sri Lankan PIs to the NSF will be 14th May, 2019 and the decision regarding the selection is to be communicated to the applicants in early 2020.

A complete submission of application should have Original competed application with attachments, 02 sets of photocopies with attachments and the scanned copy of the complete original application with attachments.

Late or Incomplete applications and applications which have not been prepared according to the NSF specified format will be rejected. NSF decision in regard to any application will be final.
