Council – 2024

 
Global Research CouncilThe 2024 Global Research Council (GRC) Asia Pacific Regional Meeting, co-hosted by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and the National Science Foundation, Sri Lanka (NSF Sri Lanka), will take place in Beijing, China from 29th October to 1st November, 2024.
 
This meeting is one of five parallel regional meetings that will contribute insights and input to the 13th Annual GRC Meeting in 2025. The GRC is a virtual organization that promotes collaboration and the sharing of data and best practices among funding agencies worldwide. Read more
 

National Consultation on Sustainable Recovery and Inclusive Development

As Sri Lanka navigates the challenges posed by the present crisis in the country, the National Science Foundation (NSF), Sri Lanka recognizes the critical role, that social sciences play in shaping effective policies for recovery and inclusive development. In order to facilitate a wider engagement of academia in social sciences along with the policy practitioners, relevant government officials, experts and also specialists from the Association of Asian Social Science Research Councils (AASSREC), we have organizined a national consultative forum focusing on sustainable recovery and inclusive post-crisis development. The forum was successfully held on 31st July 2024 in Colombo.

  1. To conduct a comprehensive analysis from a social science perspective to identify root causes and socio-economic trends that have contributed to the current crisis in the country.
  2. To promote dynamic engagement among stakeholders through shared experience to gain a comprehensive understanding of the prevailing crisis and to explore diverse avenues for sustainable recovery.
  3. To collaboratively formulate well-informed policy recommendations aimed at achieving inclusive and sustainable recovery.
