This Science Research Project competition (SRPC) is held for the first time in 2008 for school children / undergraduates and other youth.
Research projects conducted in science will be considered under this competition.
Age Categories
- Category I 13- 16 years
- Category II 17- 20 years
- Category III 21-35 years
(Age as per 31st December)
Participation could be individual or as a team of two
Subjects/Fields
Subject Categories for participation at SLSEF are as follows:

3. Computer Science
4. Chemistry
5. Environmental Science
6. Earth Science / Space Science
7. Mathematics
8. Physics
9. Zoology
10. Social Sciences
Entry Levels
- Project Proposals – category I & II can enter by sending a project proposal. Guidance will be provided for the selected projects for further improvement
- Synopsis level – For completed projects applicants could submit the project synopsis. (Category III)
Completed projects will be evaluated by an expert panel of judges, and suitable projects will be selected for the SLSEF scheduled for December each year.
Introductory Programmes
Introductory workshops will be conducted at provincial level to make the school children aware of the SLSEF. Workshops will include presentations on Creative thinking, Project ideas on Engineering and Science, and Project Proposal writing.
Synopsis
On completion of the project applicants are requested to submit a project synopsis.
Following forms should be submitted along with the Project Synopsis.

A special committee will review the synopses and most promising ones will be selected for the SLSEF.
National level
The National level winners of SRPC will be recognized and rewarded for excellence in Science. The winners of the national level will be eligible for the following.

· A Cash Award
Category III
· A Certificate and Award of Recognition
· A Cash Award
Guidance will be provided for the selected projects for further improvement and commercialization.
