The NSF started this programme with the aim of fostering students to acquire knowledge on latest developments in various fields of Science and Technology, to make them aware of the application of scientific knowledge in day to day activities and for the improvement of the standard of living.

Resent workshops conducted
Workshop on Protection and Conservation Knuckles
An awareness programme on Knuckles was conducted by the Science Popularization Division of the NSF on 27 April 2007 at the Illukkubura, Resource centre of the Forest Department.

The objective of this workshop was to create awareness amongst the school children, in the area the importance of the conservation and management of this Natural Heritage and also to inculcate attitudes towards the protection of Natural Resources.
