E-mail Print PDF

The National Science Foundation in collaboration with the Institution of Engineers Sri Lanka (IESL), Ministry of Education and Intel ® organize the Sri Lanka Science and Engineering Fair (SLSEF) with the objective of enhancing the innovative thinking amongst school children in the country. SLSEF is a platform for science students to discover their scientific genius and win public recognition at national and international levels.

SLSEF has been duly affiliated with Intel International Science & Engineering Fair (ISEF) in USA for the first time in October 2007. Therefore, winners of SLSEF each year who meet the eligibility criteria of Intel ISEF would get an opportunity to participate at the Intel ISEF held in USA in the month of May each year.

Twenty winners, ten each from the Science Research Projects competition (SRPC) conducted by the NSF and the Junior Inventor of the Year (JIY) competition conducted by the Institution of Engineers Sri of Lanka (IESL) are offered the opportunity to participate at the SLSEF. Three winners – two individual projects and one group project will be selected as the winners of the competition. Winners of the SLSEF get the opportunity to participate at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF) annually held in USA.
