The National Science Foundation started this programme with the aim of fostering students to acquire knowledge on latest developments in various fields of science and technology, to make them aware of the application of the application of scientific knowledge in day to day activities and to improve the standard of living.
Target group: School children
Following benefits are provided to the registered science societies
-
- Resource persons for scientific programmes organized by the School Science Societies.
- Funding for school science projects based on the project proposals submitted (up to maximum of Rs.10,000/=, per project ).
- Participate in workshops, seminars, field visits and World Science Day programmes (competitions and the main programme ) organized by the NSF.
Competitions
Vidurawa magazine
Vidurava science magazine publishes articles written on topics related to Science and Technology, which will help to enhance the scientific knowledge and their practical applications. Three issues including a special issue ( for the world science day ) are published annually in all three languages. Currently important topic is selected as the theme for the January and June issues of the magazine where as the special issue will be based on the theme of the World Science Day programme
