Calling Applications for Science Popularization Awards for Scientists 2026

The National Science Foundation invites applications from scientists who have made outstanding
contributions to the popularization of science and the promotion of scientific literacy in Sri Lanka.

• Lifetime Achievement (01)
• Commendation Awards
• Appreciation Awards

• Applicants must be citizens of Sri Lanka.
• Work must have been carried during 1st January 2023 – 31st December 2025.
• Contributions may include writing, public lectures, workshops, Radio/TV programs, social media, etc.
• Your main achievements in science popularization and promoting science education.
• Emphasis should be on popularizing science among wider communities, not individual research.
• Only individual applicants are eligible.
• NSF staff, committee members, and members of the Board of Management are not eligible.

Application should accompany:

• Completed application form (download from www.nsf.gov.lk)
• Academic and professional background details.
• Summary of work and results achieved in science popularization.
• Description of contributions to science education and literacy.
• Annexes (proofs of programs conducted, publications, books,
  media articles, digital content, etc.)

Completed dossiers should be posted to the Director General, National Science Foundation with the subject line "SPAS 2026" on top left hand corner of the envelope. Application deadline : 15^th June 2026

Note: NSF may request hard copies or authentication proofs if necessary.
