University of Melbourne keen to promote academic cooperation and research collaboration with Sri Lankan universities

Associate Professor Shanton Chang, Associate Dean (International) and Ms Jacqui Hoare, Student Recruitment Manager (Engineering & IT) of Melbourne School of Engineering,  University of Melbourne, called on Prof. Ranjith Senaratne, Chairman of  National Science Foundation on 11th February 2020 to strengthen academic cooperation and research collaboration between the University of Melbourne and academia and public sector institutions in Sri Lanka.
 
Prof. Senaratne held
detailed discussion with them and  Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Information Systems, and Artificial Intelligence, Facility Management, Agricultural Waste Management, and Disaster Management were identified as possible areas for collaboration. Dr. Saman Halgamuge, Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering of School of Electrical, Mechanical and Infrastructure Engineering, University of Melbourne is due to visit NSF in April, 2020 to promote academic cooperation with Sri Lankan universities.
