The Postgraduate Institute of Science (PGIS), University of Peradeniya organized the Research Congress 2023 (RESCON – 2023), November 3-4, 2023. It was conducted under the themes “Earth and Environmental Sciences, ICT, Mathematics, & Statistics, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, and Science Education “
The PGIS is a major postgraduate institution in Sri Lanka that produces the highest number of PhD, MSc and M Phil graduates in Science while maintaining high standards.
The event was graced by Prof. Ranjith Senaratne, Chairman of the National Science Foundation as the Chief Guest. Prof. M.D. Lamawansa, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Peradeniya, Professor H.M.T.G.A. Pitawala, Director of PGIS, senior academics, scientists from R&D institutions and postgraduate students attended this event. Prof. Kosala Weerakoon, Professor in Medical Parasitology, Faculty of Medicine and Allied Sciences (FMAS), Rajarata University of Sri Lanka (RUSL) delivered the keynote address.
