National Science Foundation (NSF) Launches the Objective Science Reporting (OSR) Programme

The NSF launched its “Objective Science Reporting Programme (OSR)” jointly with the Ministry of Health and Mass Media successfully which was held on 9th April 2025 at the Sri Lanka Foundation under the patronage of Dr. Chrishantha Abeysena, Hon. Minister of Science and Technology. The ultimate objective of the OSR programme is to enhance the science literacy of the nation. Additional Secretary (Administration), Mr Asai Lakkadas, Chairman of the National Science Foundation, Prof. Saman Seneweera, Director General of the National Science Foundation, Dr Sepalika Sudasinghe, Director (Development) of the Ministry of Mass Media Ms. W.P. Sewwandi, Dr. Jayantha Wattavidanage, Prof. Chandana Jayaratne, Mr Thusitha Malalasekara, Mr Dhanushka Ramanayake as well as the members of the Objective Science Reporting Programme participated for the event. Media personnel representing print and electronic media and social media were also participated in the event.

Hon. Minister of Science and Technology, addressing the audiance requested all the organizations under the Ministry of Science and Technology, and other stakeholder scientific organizations and media organizations including print and electronic media as well as social media to work together and active engagement in propelling the initiative sustainably until fruition of the Objective Science Reporting Programme. 

This event was organized by the Media and Event Management Division of NSF under the guidance of Dr Sepalika Sudasinghe, Director General, NSF.
