NSF Chairman invited as the Chief Guest of the 12th Intl. Conference on Structural Engineering and Construction Management held on 17-19 Dec 2021 in Kandy

The 12th Intl. Conference on "Structural Engineering and Construction Management" was held at the Earl's Regency Hotel in Kandy from 17-19 Dec 2021 under the able chairmanship of Prof. Ranjith Dissanayake, Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya and Secretary to the State  Ministry of Rural Roads and Other Infrastructure. Prof. Ranjith Senaratne, Chairman of the NSF was the chief guest and Prof. M.D. Lamawansha, Vice-Chancellor, Univ. of Peradeniya was the guest of honour. 
 
It was a collaborative effort of the Faculties of Engineering of the Universities of Peradeniya, Moratuwa, Ruhuna and Sri Jayawardenapura and the Open University of Sri Lanka where over 150 papers of topical significance were presented by world renowned scientists and engineers from home and abroad. The conference was conducted in a hybrid mode which was attended by around 3,000 participants during the 3-day event. 

A notable feature of the event was the active participation of the industry in the conference. Several keynote speakers including, Prof. Andrzei Cwirzen, Lulea University of Technology, Sweden, Prof. Sasha Tsenkova, Univ. of Calgary, Canada, Prof. Rajib B. Mallick, Worcester Polytechnic Institute,  USA and Prof. Janaka Ekanayak, Univ. of Peradeniya addressed the conference.
