"Science Indicators for Policy Development"
The Science and Technology Policy Research Division (STPRD) is engaged in strengthening the research/innovation eco-system of the country by providing policy recommendations via evidence-based research data for S&T policy formulation. Accordingly, the Division undertake science, technology and innovation (STI) policy research in the areas of importance to make recommendations for policy formulation. Developing databases relevant to all sectors of STI that will be useful for decision making is another important activity of the Division.

- National Research, Development and Innovation (RD&I) Survey
- Science and Technology Management Information System (STMIS)
- Science & Technology Policy Research including collection, conservation and dissemination of Indigenous Knowledge in Sri Lanka & facilitatinge advancement of Social Sciences through promotion of research, capacity building and networking
